Pay It Forward & an Open House

I took part in a Pay It Forward over at Southern Prep. She sent the sweetest little happies!

I am working up a few projects for an Open House. This will be the first I've ever held in my home. We will have my paintings, a tupperware rep, a home interior rep & maybe a lady who makes and monograms baby things. I'm excited but a little nervous too.

Could you share any ideas or tips for holding an Open House? Leave me a comment and I'll draw three names to send a Pay It Forward to on Halloween night. If you link me on your blog, I'll give you another entry.

Please don't put me in the pay it forward drawing as I too was a recepient of Lizzie's kindness.
However, I have done many Open Houses and a few tips I'd pay forward are:

1. I have found it is best, if possible, to hold the Open House from early afternoon until just after dinner time. This will allow mom's to stop by on their way to pick the kids up from school (they can shop unemcombered) and will allow those that work outside the home time to stop by after work.
2. Serve a little refreshment, when ppl feel at ease, they shop more :)
3. Encourage them to bring a friend by telling them that if they do their name will be put in a drawying for a discount, coupon, free gift or something else of your choosing.

Hope this helps :)

Sounds like fun, I had one years ago and it was a blast,we got to visit and shop while supporting friends in business. My hubby was GREAT he helped out in the kithcen and by time the last guest left, he had the kithcen cleaned and mopped for me. Missy
